An Open Letter from Miss Paige,

September, 26th, 2024

We were supposed to be together for six weeks, and here we are, one year later. We have been through quite a bit as a group—more than you know. There are so many things that I want you to know that I could probably write a novel. That being said, these are the five most important things I wish you to know. You guys say how much you love coming to programming; the truth is, so do I. Every one of you has made me feel more loved than ever. This is what I wish for you to know.

  1. You are loved

I put this one first because I hope you always know you are loved, no matter how badly you mess up or feel like you are messing up.

  2. You are enough

It is very easy to go through life and think that what you are doing may not be necessary and that you are not enough for anyone. This is not true. No matter what, you will always be enough.

  3. Your Voice MATTERS

Your voice is one of your most potent weapons; don't let someone tell you that just because you are young or just because you are a girl, you do not matter. You do.

  4. You are stronger than you know.

When the whole world feels like it is crumbling around you, and you do not feel like you can do it anymore, you can. You are a fighter; you may not feel that way right now, but there is always a light at the storm's end, even when it feels like there is not. So keep going.

  5. You are not what others say about you.

People can be mean; we have spent numerous dove nights discussing what people say. People can say some mean things. Just because that is what someone says, that is just one person's opinion. It does not reflect the views of many people who think you are truly spectacular.

  6. Keeping chasing your dreams

Never stop chasing your dreams, even if they may seem unattainable. If someone tries to get in your way, just find another way! Trust me, it's there.

  7. It's okay to make mistakes.

Mistakes are how you learn. If you are not making mistakes, then you are not learning.

  8. Never stop learning

This one may shock you, but no one knows everything, not even me. There is always something out there that you can learn. There is always something new that you can learn. Keep looking for answers even when there is none right in front of you because I bet there is something in that book in the back of the library. I will be right there to help you figure it out!

  9. Be Kind

This one speaks for itself: Be kind if you can be anything. You honestly do not know what others are going through.

  10. You WILL change the world.

Keep on being you; you are amazing.

Love always,

Miss Paige
